Floating is a personal artwork series by Novian Arif, created in 2014 using manual pencil drawing techniques. These pieces explore weightlessness, quiet femininity, and the surreal — figures suspended between the natural and the imagined, rendered through careful observational drawing and fine art study.

The work reflects Novian's fine art roots from his years at Institut Seni Indonesia Padangpanjang, where live drawing and anatomical study formed the foundation of his visual practice. Each figure carries a sense of stillness and introspection — a quality that continues to inform his approach to art direction and visual storytelling today.
